A first look at Musical Notes on the Stave

Taking the exhilarating five black horizontal lines we discovered on the previous page, lets see what they look like with some musical notes added over the top:

Pretty cool hey? Now here's the fun part. Each of those "dots" that we've written above on the stave has a different pitch. 

The term "Pitch" describes how high or low a note sounds. For example, the average female voice has a higher pitch than the average male voice (meaning it sounds higher)

We read in time from left to right. So the stave diagram above starts with a low pitch and gets a little bit higher with each subsequent note.
